Mold Exists Naturally

If It Naturally Exists, Why Does Mold Make You Sick?

Do you find yourself asking, “why does mold make you sick if it occurs naturally on our earth – everywhere”? Molds have been around from the beginning. God created plant life on the third day and man on the sixth, so mold had plenty of time to get really good at its job!

And unlike humans, mold can’t do any other job. But it’s a survivor and can mutate or evolve to do its job more efficiently. When threatened, mold fights back hard.

Why Mold Exists and 7 Traits of Mold You Need to Know

Mold is a fighter.

Mold’s job is to clean organic fibers like dead plants and bodies out of the environment. So naturally, when mold gets into your body, it fights to clean your system from the decaying rot from lack of self-care, whether from poor choices or poor bodily function!

Mold comes in all kinds of species and colors

Black mold may only be black because of what it’s feeding on. For example, we refer to Stachybotrys chartarum as black mold. But Stachybotrys chartarum is only black when it uses things like drywall as a food source. Other colors of mold can be dangerous too.

Mold is not always visible.

By the time you see mold with the naked eye, it has already metastasized into the air microscopically to form colonies elsewhere. So just because you don’t see mold, that doesn’t mean your space is mold-free.

Even “dead” mold can cause problems.

Like all dead things, mold fragments into smaller particles. These fragments, and the toxins attached to them, easily get into the air. So you can breathe in or ingest the mold mycotoxins, which are a major source of inflammation.

Mold thrives in moisture.

Mold gets into any natural fibers and waits for moisture to start growing more. Mold can multiply in less than 40% humidity, which is low compared to humidity levels in many homes and office spaces.

Mold is patient.

Mold can linger and wait for the right amount of moisture – even via a spill. It can hang out invisibly in blankets, pillows, mattresses, couches, books, papers, dust, carpet, drywall, and anything fibrous. It will also get into your HVAC systems, air conditioners, subfloors, basements, walls, and ceiling cavities.

Mold thrives in electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

Research has shown that mold multiplies exponentially when electromagnetic fields are present. With the surge in 5G, you are likely to see increases in both mold and EMF sickness.

Is Mold Bad for You and Why?

Mold is everywhere and comes in several different species. Some species produce toxic molecules (mycotoxins) while others don’t. You’ll find mold in homes, buildings, and even your body.

When healthy, your body will naturally detox mold out.

However, 25% of the population is has a particular gene turned off that is needed to naturally detox the mold out. This can lead to mold toxicity or mold illness.

Even if you have this gene and can usually detox mold, you may have been exposed to high levels of toxic mold from a water-damaged building. Or perhaps hidden toxic mold in your workplace or home has overloaded your system.

When your body cannot detox mold properly, the mold can methodically shut down your systems both to:

  1. do it’s cleanup job more effectively and
  2. to protect itself from harm.

As a result, many parts of your body and mind can get out of whack.

How Mold Took Over My Life

I once lived in a little house in the mountains that had every conceivable color of mold in it. That is where I really started to go downhill. I got to the point where I could not get out of bed. My husband often carried me to places.

I was excessively weak, fatigued and even when I tried to read, I could not remember the sentence I just read. At times, I almost passed out from simply standing and had to crawl on my hands and knees to the bathroom.

I could not sleep but a few minutes at a time, and the rest of the time I could not even lay still. I was hungry for air even when I had not been doing anything.

Much of what I ate resulted in intestinal problems. My eyes were extremely itchy, watery, blurry, and felt way too dry. I was cold, except during a hot flash. And if that was not enough, everything I touched shocked me!

I had already moved so many times and always took my possessions with me. I must have had mold in all my possessions at this point.

So during my last move, I got all new everything, and so far no sign of mold.

Fortunately, mold illness doesn’t become that debilitating for everyone. However, you might have unexplained or misdiagnosed symptoms or autoimmune conditions which are caused by mold. Mold is sneaky, dangerous, and determined.

But I am here to encourage you and bring hope.

I am much healthier now – playing with my grandkids, hiking, and running my own business.
