Easy way to detox mold mycotoxins out of your body to feel energetic again

Have you found mold in your home, work place, or vehicle? Have you been dealing with a mysterious illness for some time before you found it? Are you unsure of where to start with your detoxification of the mold and mycotoxins?

Well, the first place to start is testing to be sure you have, or don’t have, mold and mycotoxins in your body. That can be done with a simple functional tests that can be easily performed at home and sent to the lab.

I learned to do this testing when I became a functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner and through my own problems with mold illness.

If you have found that you definitely have the symptoms (which are numerous), or have tested positive, then you need to start strategically detoxing them out of your body. I have written other articles on detoxing these molds and mycotoxins. (You can start with those here)

Another way to detox mold and mycotoxins out of your body is through sweating. This can be done with exercise, but most people with mold illness (CIRS=Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) just don’t have the energy to even think about this. So infrared sauna to the rescue.

What is Infrared Sauna?

Infrared sauna is a sauna that uses infrared heat to deeply penetrate into the tissues of your body to mobilize the mold and mycotoxins there. It helps to release toxins from the deep fatty tissues of the body, where they are stored, via sweating. Mold toxins are not water soluble so if they are not excreted in the poop or urine then they are sequestered in the fat cells.

The type of sauna is really important because only a dry sauna gets you sweating from the deep fatty tissues. That’s one thing that makes infrared sauna so great to get rid of mold mycotoxins. Also, it doesn’t heat the air so much as your body. It increases the body’s core temperature around 5.4 degrees Fahrenheit. And it penetrates deeper than just heated air.

What are the benefits of Infrared Sauna in mold illness?

Besides the mold mycotoxin release from the body, infrared sauna benefits you in other ways too. Some of those include –

  • Improves ability to breathe deeply with less effort (remember lungs or breathing is also a detox pathway)
  • Diminished pain including emotional (think anger, depression, body pain especially)
  • Diminished fatigue
  • Can improve chemical sensitivity
  • Improves Cognitive function
  • Improves sleep and relaxation (less tired but wired feeling)
  • Improves circulation (more ways to get the mycotoxins out)
  • Reduces inflammation (the biggest problem in mold illness)
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Slows aging and tightens skin
  • Helps tissue regeneration (healing)
  • Improves Mitochondria function (energy J)

How to use infrared sauna?

You can find infrared sauna either for purchase, or at health club, spa, or doctor’s office (I use one at the gym). Here are some guidelines to help you get started on this journey –

  • Make sure you are well hydrated before going into, and after going in a sauna.
  • If you are new to saunas start at 5 or 10 minutes. If you have not started sweating in first 5 minutes of sauna use, get out and do again the next day. Work up 2-5 minutes a day to at least 30 minutes per session.
  • Do it 3-4 days per week, as you can tolerate.
  • When you are done with sauna session, sit outside of it and cool down. While doing that drink some mineral infused water with a binder like a good clean zeolite. Then take a shower (end it with cold water).
  • Take extra fatty acid supplement sometime after also to replace fats that were lost. (fats fight inflammation)

Things to know before you use a sauna –

  • Don’t go to sleep, you can read, meditate, listen to music, and you can talk to others in there.
  • Don’t take your cell phone in there, it will melt its parts and not work.
  • Do not use if you have been drinking alcohol
  • Don’t wear contact lenses in the sauna.
  • If you have a fever don’t use sauna, wait till you don’t have it.
  • Make sure you drink enough water every day, you can drink water before, during, and after sauna use.

So infrared sauna is a great way to detox mold mycotoxins from your system. As you can see, it is of great benefit to us to do so. Detox those critters out any way that works. Infrared sauna not only detoxes those mycotoxins out, but has other benefits as well. Happy sauna time 😉
